FRASER, Mich.- In a heated divisional matchup at Big Boy Arena, the Chicago Crush Premier squad emerged victorious with a 4-2 win over the Motor City Gamblers, providing an exhilarating show for the fans in attendance.

The opening frame set the tone as the Chicago Crush wasted no time asserting their dominance. The power-play unit showcased its prowess just 50 seconds into the game, with forward Capt. Nick Zehelein notching his first of the night. The Crush continued their offensive onslaught, tallying three more goals in quick succession through Nick Zehelein scoring his second of the day, while Jacob Rozanski and Peter White both scoring their first USPHL goals! Vachon of the Gamblers managed to squeeze one past Crush goaltender Jack Sundhall, ending the first period with a score of 4-1.


The second period brought a slowdown in scoring but not in intensity. Both teams tightened up defensively, with neither able to capitalize on scoring opportunities. The goaltenders, Massaro for the Gamblers and Jack Sundhall for the Crush, showcased their skills, turning away shots and keeping the scoreline unchanged. The physicality on the ice escalated, resulting in penalties for both sides, setting the stage for a tense final period.


As the clock ticked down in the third period, the Motor City Gamblers found a spark. Vachon netted his second of the night, bringing the score to 4-2. The Gamblers, fueled by the home crowd, pressed on, but Sundhall stood tall in the Chicago net, denying any further comeback attempts.

The final period also saw a display of raw emotion, with several major penalties and fights breaking out on the ice. Ryan Hammer and Weimer dropped the gloves, receiving majors for fighting. Meanwhile, Patton's actions led to a disqualification for unsportsmanlike conduct, adding an extra layer of drama to an already intense matchup.


In a game that saw a total of 81 shots fired, Chicago goaltender Jack Sundhall proved to be the difference-maker, making 33 saves and securing the win for the Crush. The defensive unit held firm, blocking shots and limiting the Motor City Gamblers' chances throughout the game.
