BLAINE, Minn.- In a high-stakes clash that set the tone for the entire USPHL Midwest Showcase, the Chicago Crush Premier squad emerged victorious against the Minnesota Mullets with a 2-0 win. The atmosphere was electric, and the action on the ice did not disappoint.

The action was fast and furious right from the first puck drop. Just 7 minutes and 32 seconds into the game, Chicago Crush's winger William Kenny made a statement with a shorthanded goal, brilliantly set up by Sam Barnitz and Spencer Kauke. The Mullets found themselves on the wrong side of the penalty count, racking up four infractions in this period, but the Crush's tenacious defense held strong.


The Crush didn't ease up in the second period. Ryan Hammer added another goal at 6:06, with assists from Nick Zehelein and Caden Day, extending the Crush's lead. The Mullets, undeterred, fought valiantly but couldn't penetrate the resolute Crush defense. Both teams exhibited their fierce competitiveness, resulting in a series of penalties.

The final period witnessed intense back-and-forth action, but neither team could find the back of the net. The Mullets mounted a late surge, but the Crush's goaltender, Jack Sundhall, stood tall, ensuring a clean slate and sealing the victory. Final Score: Chicago Crush 2, Minnesota Mullets 0

After the game Cyler Brogle commented, "We knew if we stayed in our structure and played our game we would get chances, and when they came we capitalized on them."


Caden Day remarked, "I thought we did what we needed to, did the basics and got the job done. Time to get good rest for the rest of the games."
